Essay On The Holocaust

According to Webster’s online Dictionary, holocaust is defined as, “a thorough destruction involving extensive loss of life especially through fire.” In relation to history, between the years of 1933 to 1945, events in Germany lead to what is known today as The Holocaust. It started off as discrimination of Jewish people, referred to as “Jews” during this time, and quickly escalated to a full blown genocide. Adolf Hitler, Dictator of Germany during this time period, created a political party in 1920 titled the “Nazi Party.” This party believed that Germans, specifically blonde haired people with blue eyes, were essentially the “perfect” race; meaning, all other races were inferior to them. They mainly targeted Jews, because in their eyes, the Jewish people were the reason behind why certain situations were going wrong. For example, the Nazi Party blamed the Jews when Germany lost in World War One as well as the negative effects that followed. Resulting from World War One, Germany was in a lot of debt and their economy suffered greatly; and with the blame for these unfortunate effects, the Jews were discriminated against, which triggered the beginning of The Holocaust. The Nazi Party based a lot of their beliefs off of Charles Darwin’s idea of evolution. The most common argument as to why this ideology is correct is because it is believed that God does not create evil, He only creates good.
