These death marches sent anyone from a concentration camp to a death camp. The Jews had to walk for hundreds of miles to get to these camps and most of them died on their way to the death camps. The death marches started so the enemy would not find all the evil the Nazis had done to so many people. During these marches, the Nazis thought even though they are marching they still have to do something so during the marches they had to still do manual labor. Some of the politicians in Germany thought that they should keep some of the Jews lives as hostages, but Hitler would not take it and would have the people executed for treason (“Death Marches”).
In conclusion, the Holocaust was a terrible time in history. Speech, discrimination, and extermination this is the steps that the Holocaust followed is is called the Ladder of Prejudice. The Holocaust was a terrible event with the killing of Jews and non-Jews as the Nazi war machine marched on taking over countries that left heartache in the path of 6 million Jews. As the future of mankind approaches the holocaust needs to be taught to the young children of every country as to save the world from this terrible event from ever happening
