A certain action that was up for debate was bombing Auschwitz in hope to send a message to Germany that allies know what is happening will try to stop it at all costs. This would have inflicted fear to German Nazis and the support that the people suffering in these horrible conditions need. The smallest amount of help would have been a small limelight of hope but nothing ever came from allies. A reason that the bombings never took place is because The United states claims that they did not about ‘The Final solution” in time to make bomb runs and did not have a reliable source to locate the exact location of Auschwitz. In reality, America knew about “The Final Solution” well before it ever took place. It is said that allies like the United states knew about it as early as 1942. It is also said that the United States received very detailed information about the layout of the Auschwitz camp. Two Jewish men, Rudolf Vrba and Alfred Wexler, escaped the camp and provided very vital information the the U.S. Richard Breitman, an American historian, claims “ ...there was enough generally accurate information about Auschwitz-Birkenau to preclude the argument that the Allies did not bomb the camp because they got the necessary information too late.” Many defenders of the allies say that Auschwitz-Birkenau should not have been bombed because there would have been many …show more content…
There is no saying how long help might take, but help is always on the horizon with the United States. In recent months, the Syrian refugee crisis has been on the top of many people’s minds simply in the fact that hundreds of thousand Syrians are fleeing Syria for a better life without warfare and chaos. The threat that the Islamic terrorist group Isis is implementing is so grand, that men, women, and children are fleeing the country in hopes of better life without a constant threat where they live. refugees are fleeing to countries close and far such as Germany, Hungary, Greece, and the United States. The United States is not taking this situation with the refugees lightly and certainly do not want to repeat history and stay quit on this topic. Out of 70,000 refugees accepted into the United States, 1,500 were from Syria. As of October 1st, The United States is prepared to take in as much as 100,000 refugees. This is not as much as the 350,000 refugees that europe has already taken in but help is evident from the U.S. The fact that The U.s is not steering away from helping shows how much we have grown as a country but also as an allie.
The past carries many things that the United States would like to forget. Not helping the Jewish refugees during the Holocaust is certainly one of them. The fact that millions of Jews innocently died because nobody took active action to prevent or stop this all from happening.
