The Holocaust was an awful time for many people, not just the Jews. About six million Jews passed away. The Frank family was one of the millions of families affected by the Holocaust. The whole family died with the exception of Mr. Frank. The Frank family was lucky that they lasted as long as they did. Most Jews were sent to concentration camps way before the Frank family was found. The Holocaust is a event to be remembered. The historical events of the Holocaust majorly impacted the people in “The Diary of Anne Frank.”
The Nuremberg Laws took away rights from the Jews as German citizens. The laws isolated the Jews. They were forced to leave their jobs, Mr. Frank had to leave the factory he worked in. The Frank family went into hiding inside a secret annex on top of the spice factory. Peter took off his Star of David, even though it was illegal, that the Nazis used to mark them as Jews. Anne felt too much attachment to her Star of David and couldn't destroy it.

The Gestapo made the Jews more isolated than they were before. Many Jewish families went into hiding to flea from the Gestapo. The job of the Gestapo was to administer laws. If the Gestapo found a Jew they were most likely beaten and taken to a concentration camp. Mrs. VanDaan was always worrying about the Gestapo finding them. The Gestapo freightened the Franks and VanDaans, they were afraid of being caught as were all Jews.
Concentration Camps is a place the Gestapo took the Jews. At the camps the Jews are put in forced labor to work for the Nazis. The concentration camps were a place the Nazis killed the Jews, gassing them was the most common. Margot was the first of the Franks family to receive a letter to work at a camp. Anne’s whole family died in concentration camps except for Mr. Frank who was the only one to survive out of the group. Their was nearly 900 Concentration camps in
