It was formed July 4th 1926 at the second National Party Day. This was an attempt to straighten German youth along the political, social or religious lines. Hitler believed that the future of the German people or the Nazi depended on the young ones. That is why it was so important to have the kids so strictly in order. This movement soon developed a ranking system, a dress code, and a way of treating other members with respect. At first this organization consisted of only boys but later girls joined in, although, the sexes were not mixed. World War 1 eliminated an entire generation of German youth and the idea of the Wander Vogel was lost. Soon after the Hitlerjugend took place instead and they lived by the notion “youth led by youth”. Other institutions appeared later on in Germany influenced by the Wander
