Did you know that Holocaust means a mass slaughter of people or a sacrifice consumed by fire! (Merriam-Webster) The Holocaust started on January 30,1933 and finally ended on May 8, 1945. ( The Holocaust and World War II ) The Nuremberg Laws made it so German Jews were no longer German citizens. Separated the Jewish part Jewish and or Aryan. Kristallnacht also known as “The Night of Broken Glass” This event lasted 2 days over 7500 Jewish shops were looted. 119 synagogues were set on fire. 20000 Jewish people were arrested. 36 people died during the night of broken glass. The Aktion-T4 was the summer of 1939 the Nazis killed mentally and physically handicapped children and adults. (The Doom of Jewish life in Germany) Adolf Hitler was born in Austria in 1889 April 20 he was born in Braunau am inn. Him and his harsh father clashed emotionally. In 1907 he moved to Vienna. During the Holocaust he was forced to live in ghettos at the age of 15 he was sent to Auschwitz. Then sent to a Buna Werke labor camp, a subcamp of Auschwitz III-monowitz with his father. His father later died in Buchenwald where his father was beaten by a German soldier. That was three months before the camp was liberated. (Elie Wiesel) Elie and one of his sister are the only ones in his family to survive. He was a teacher. Met an Austrian Holocaust survivor then they got married in Jerusalem. Then he moved to New York. He was a scholar at Yale. Then he made several books and in 1986 he was awarded the Nobel peace Prize. Founded the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity. (Elie Wiesel) Now that I know more about the Holocaust I know the things that they did to them. I would not want any of that to happen to me or anyone. I also think that Hitler was mentally insane!
