The book I have read is The Hobbit written by J.J.R Tolkien. The book is nonfiction and a great all around book. It is about an army of dwarfs, elves, and a single hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. They are on a quest to get Thornin’s treasure back from a dragon named Smaug. Biblo was from a small place outside of Hobbiton. Hobbits are known for taking no risk or adventures, but Bilbo is going to change that in the story. In the end this book proves that hard work and dedication, anything is possible
The setting of the story takes place in many different areas because they are always on the move. It was at a time when the dragon Smaug was alive and healthy and when the battles were about to begin. Some of the main characters include, Biblo, Thorin, Gandalf, Smaug, and Elrond. He is a hobbit, which are small people, about half the size of people. Bilbo is quite happy at Bag End, near the village of Hobbiton, but Gandalf, talks Bilbo onto going on a quest with dwarves. The dwarves are going on a mission to take their treasure back from the dragon, Smaug. The dwarves are questioning Gandalf’s choice for Bilbo and he is scared to leave his home. Gandalf tells Bilbo and the dwarves that there is more to the little hobbit than they can see. After the group sets out, three trolls capture them. Gandalf tricks the trolls into remaining outside until the sun comes up, and the sunlight turns them to stone. Gandalf, the dwarf lord Thorin, and Bilbo all take swords. The group rests at the fort of Rivendell, where they get advice from the Elf Lord Elrond. They find shelter during a snowstorm and goblins capture them.
