The Hobbit is a fantasy novel created by J.R.R. Tolkien. In The Hobbit, Tolkien explains about an Adventure, Morales, and Battles that take place in the book.
J.R.R. Tolkien created the works of “The Hobbit” in a completely new world. He created characters that lived in middle –earth that made “The Hobbit” an adventure to read. Bilbo Baggins is a character in the book, who is a Hobbit that lives in a Hobbit hole named Bag End, which is in Hobbiton, also known as the Shire. Bilbo is an average sized hobbit (which is about 3 feet tall), and wore a red jacket, green vest, brown pants, and a white button shirt. After one night of thinking, Bilbo decided to accompanied Gandolf and the dwarfs to the Misty Mountain. “Bilbo Baggins' journey is a metaphor for the individuation process, his quest a search for maturity and wholeness, and his adventures, symbolically detailed rites of maturation” (Matthews). “At the beginning of the tale, Bilbo's personality is out of balance and far from integrated. His, masculinity, or one may say his Tookish aggressiveness is being repressed so that he is clinging rather immaturely to a childish way of life” (Matthews). “In the earlier work, Tolkien is addressing children and dealing with a closely limited theme—growing up—telling about Bilbo's “birth” out of Bag End and his gradual initiation into full manhood” (Helms). Bilbo’s journey lead him to facing many fears along the way like over, coming the many battles he had encountered with the Goblins, Orks, and Trolls. Gandolf was a tall man around 6ft tall with a staff, grey beard, grey hat, and grey robe. Gandolf was the wisest of the group and would be giving people advice and insight while on there, journey. Unlike Bilbo Gandolf had a reason for helping Thorin Oakenshield take back him home and kingdom back from the dragon Smaug. Bilbo adventure gave him the chance to meet Thorin Oakenshield and his company of dwarfs. Thorin acquired Bilbo for his journey because of his small size he could get into the mountain and sneak past Smaug the dragon. Thorin hopes to take back his home back from Smaug and take back his rule as king under the
