The Hobbie Hero's Journey

Every story has a unique hero, but if you look closely the outline of all of the heroes is similar. Two completely different heroes, Bilbo Baggins and Malala Yousafzai, have much in common and they have much different. The Hobbit, a novel written by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, is about dwarves, elves, hobbits, and many more mythical beings in Middle Earth. In this novel the Call to Adventure comes to him when Gandalf the wizard comes to his little hobbit hole and tells him to come on his adventure. One event leads to the next and Bilbo ends up saving the dwarves on multiple occasions. Malala Yousafzai wrote her own book, I am Malala is about Malala Yousafzai and how she fought for girls’ rights to an education and the struggles she faces doing this. First, in the texts they both have a older and wiser mentor that they look up to who eventually leaves them. For example, in I am Malala at first she gets assistance from her father, but eventually she is ready to be on her own so he leaves the rest of the journey to her. Second, in both texts they both are trying to help others in their journey. For instance, in The Hobbit Bilbo is trying to help the dwarves in their journey and save them in some cases. Also, in I am Malala her journey is to help give girls education and to speak for those who do not have a voice. Overall, even though they are very different, every hero has much in
