The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is a comedic story about the life of a man who doesn't know his purpose, Arthur Dent. He lived in a small house atop a hill in the United Kingdom accompanied by his non-human friend, Ford Prefect. Ford, stranded to Earth for 15 years on a quest to complete his book, is Arthur’s best and only friend, and even more importantly, is aware of the imminent destruction of Earth, and has a means of escape. The duo sneaks onto an enemy vogon ship, only to be ejected into space shortly after; and consistently rescued by The Heart Of Gold, the most technologically advanced ship in the Universe, manned by Zaphod Beeblebrox, the President of the Universe, and Trillian, the only other human still in existence.
