Oftentimes, the women that go to a Planned Parenthood facility are anxious about whatever reason they are there. The personnel at any Planned Parenthood facility helps women and assures them that they have numerous options. For example, one woman, Marandah Field-Elliot, who contacted Planned Parenthood with a pregnancy scare, states that she stands with Planned Parenthood because “they give people information to decide what happens with their bodies and their future.”. Another woman, who only goes by Jessica, states that she “...went to Planned Parenthood to discreetlly have various STI tests run.”(Pearson, Catherine) after she was raped during her sophomore year in college. She goes on to say that “the staff were very caring and professional” to her after her ordeal.(Pearson) If the government stops funding Planned Parenthood, women like Ms. Elliot and Jessica will no longer have access to low-cost medical services to help them when they cannot afford it.
