Henry Ford’s quadricycle was an ethanol powered engine with four bicycle wheels mounted to it. Some people in his time didn't call it a car or a vehicle, they called it “The Horseless Carriage”. This car was two cylinder with two speed transmission and no reverse. The engine could produce four horsepower and could go a top speed of twenty miles per hour. First gear was for ten miles per hour and second gear was for the top speed of twenty. The gas tank could only store 3 gallons of fuel and it was under the seat when someone sat in the car. Ford finished his first vehicle at the age of thirty two. Henry Ford sold his first quadricycle in 1896 Ford two-hundred dollars. The curb weight of the car was about five hundred pounds. His first car was only in production for only five years, from 1896-1901. The …show more content…
One of the reason is because it had a hardtop roof. This vehicle was also not only built by Henry. It was built by Childe Harold Wills, Joseph A. Galamb and Eugene Farkas. This car was considered a two door, economic, town car. This car was also a two speed car but weighed much more than the quadricycle at 1200 pounds. The model T had many names but is was named the most influential car of the 20th century. This car stands currently at 8th on the all time most sold list. It was such a success because it provided inexpensive transportation. The car because a milestone for America because it showed how far we came in technology. In a few days after they release the model T they already had 15,000 orders for it. After all the cars that were bought and all the cars they built Henry Ford still watched the 15th million model T roll of his assembly line. Today

there are car clubs specifically for the model T’s all over the world. There are four main clubs that all have model t’s in them. If a model T were built before 1919 then they were considered veteran cars. After 1919 they are considered Vintage
