Genetically Modified Foods Why genetically modified food could destroy the world? According to an article called History of Genetically Modified Foods it said “The 1980’s marked the scientific discovery that specific pieces of DNA could be transferred from one organism to another”( history of GMO) that means that the scientist had been feeding humans bad food for over thirty four years. Genetically modified food has filled the world with its bad radiation and people thought they are eating healthy food. Also, in that article it said in 1983 the scientist started transferring plants to try to make bigger plants. In that article by Jeff Schalau he said “In a long segment of DNA, only a small segment contains the actual gene that must be extracted”(Schalau) so the scientist only take that small segment to make the plants bigger. After they take that segment they put it with other segment of a totally different plant or animal to make bigger plants and larger animals so it could feed the world. So the scientist fills the animals with bad radiation to make it larger then it seems. And since it is larger food and a lot food, the food is much cheaper but filled with bad radiation. Also, in the same article he said “The genes are removed from the long DNA strands by restriction enzymes that can located the beginning and the end of the gene tightly blind to it, and snip out the desired gene”(Schalau)(SIC) the scientist are like trying to help by designing new foods by adding two DNA’s together. They take the enzymes that locate the begging and end of the gene. The scientist are always discovering a lot of things in the world but this time they did not check what could the genetically modified food could do to the people. The people immunity is becoming more and more weak ever day, and by the immunity getting weaker the people could catch any sickness and die from it. According to an article written by the University of Utah the scientist said “Many people suffer from allergies to various food items, including nuts, wheat, eggs, or dairy products .There is concern that the protein products of introduced genes may be toxic or allergenic to certain individuals” (Utah university) that mostly means that people could get very sick from modified foods. Many people could get bleeding or even cancer from eating all modified food. And many other people there immunity get weak and they can no longer face any common cold. In the same article from university of Utah it said that many crops or food get diseases from modified foods, it is not just making plants bigger but it gets diseases all around the world throw foods. Especially in Africa because Africa is the poorest place on the plant they need all the food they could get and since genetically modified foods are all over the world, the poor people have no other choice then to eat that food.
