When we look around us we do not even think about it, we check both ways before crossing the street, we admire the sunset early in the morning, or we read a book. But, we never think about how we see things, how does what we see get translated into things that we can understand? It starts in the retina, where the receptor cells are. There are two types of receptor cells, rods and cones, both are only sensitive to visible light. Rods are chiefly responsible for night vision and respond to only varying intensities of light and dark. Cones allow us to see color, they operate mostly in daylight and don’t pay as much attention to the amount of light as rods do. The rods and cones are connected to specialized neurons called bipolar cells, which in turn hook up with the ganglion cells. The ganglion cells lead out of the eye and their axons from the optic nerve, which is the messenger from an eye to the brain. After the nerve fibers leave the eye they separate and some cross to the other side of the head. The optic …show more content…
If I was a person who was looking for a place to go on vacation and was motivated to find a location, then I could be more easily swayed to enjoy this commercial than someone who was watching television just for leisure. It would make this a very logical place to go for a vacation, as it shows happy people and declares itself to be the “roller coaster capital of the world”. I have been on roller coasters before and that experience tells me that they do not cause ones face to distort to the level shown in the advertisement. This makes it all the more humorous, to see something so wildly exaggerated is quite humorous. My personality likes to find certain things excessively humorous, and the facial expressions featured were no exception. This may have prodded me to like the commercial than was properly
