Looking across the field, I see all the high school football players walking on the field to practice. Their coach blows the whistle as a warning to hurry up. As I look around, I notice that not all the football players are dressed properly. As I am sitting on the bleachers watching them practice I witness two players get seriously injured. One player, who was the quarterback, got hurt because he was playing without his pads. He dislocated his shoulder because he wasn’t suited up properly for practice. The other player got hurt because he was playing in shoes instead of cleats. This player broke his ankle because he wore shoes to practice in. These injuries could have been avoided if their coaches would have enforced the proper safety of equipment for the team. Many high school football players get hurt because of their coaches. High school football coaches lack teaching their players the proper safety causing them to be at fault for player’s injuries, which needs to be improved by teaching players the proper fundamentals and regulations. For instance, football is a dangerous sport which requires the proper safety equipment to be worn by players. Football consist of blocking and tackling which causes quite a lot of injuries if not done properly. High school football players are required to wear a helmet with a face mask, hip pads, cleats, shoulder pads, knee and thigh pads, mouth guard, pants, and jersey.
