Watching the hiding place reflection gave a sense of how strong one's faith can be in time of peril and suppression. The Tenenbaums were a truly Christian family and didn't let the fearful situation of Nazi occupation change that. Many say that they are Christians but actions speak louder than words and they acted as true Christians. The nazis were looking to cleanse the gentiles in order to create a perfect society but the Tenenbaums tried their best to harbor and hide the Jewish people within their neighborhood. Lawbreaking was a common theme for the Tenenbaums but they did this in order to live out their Christian values. Civil law was taken more seriously than the set laws of The nazi’s. Their actions went against the laws set in place but they disregarded this notion and follows the law of god by being a good Christian and helping a brother or sister with an open hand. In the Nazi’s case they will face the wrath of god for the sickening crimes and mistreatment of political prisoners. Many lessons were portrayed during this movie that I will be able to incorporate into my own life as a catholic. “The Hiding Place” was quite a unique opportunity to learn about how to properly act as a proper Christian. Many of my teachings and education on how to act as a proper Christian comes from religion class or the church itself. In this case I was able to observe the courageous actions of others who went to the next level in acting as a good Christian. Morality is a common theme spoken by christians as we are guided in our lives to make the right decisions. Even though there are many opportunities to act up and sin our morality and natural saves us from doing so. Hopefully from watching this movie i will take away more than just learning about events in a historical context but learn in a spiritual
