A myth is a story that holds some kind of significance in a culture, a story that addresses fundamental and difficult questions that we as human beings ask: who or what am I, where did I come from, why am I here, how should I live, what is the right thing to do, what is the universe, how did it all begin? Myths are stories that are told about great men and great women; about the forces of good and evil; about large and small animals; about natural thing as well creatures like giants, gods and other supernatural beings. as I mentioned earlier Jesus is the hero of Christianity and the Hebrew mythos and like every other hero in myth he also follows the Hero's journey outline. The first step which is the Ordinary World consist of his birth and his everyday life. Step two "The Call to Adventure" happened when God spoke directly to him during his baptism. The third step "The Refusal Of The Call" he hits this step on the night of his Last Supper, when he asks god to take the responsibilty from him. The fourth step "Meeting The Mentor" happens when that same night angel appears and strengthens him. The fifth step "Crossing The Threshold" happens when jesus surrenders to the roman authorities. The sixth step "Tests, Allies, Enemies" happens when he is placed before the people and they treat him like a criminal. The seventh step "The Approach" happens when he is transferred to herod where he is ridiculed and mocked by the people. The eighth step "The Ordeal" happens when he is made to carry the cross after being beaten nearly to deat and tortured.
