He gives up his life of saving money to buy a Buddhist Palm manual from the beggar who is saying he can be the next kung fu genius to protect the world peace. He accepts the mission to a new world of unknown with full of dangers and challengers. Furthermore, he reads and practices the manual everyday until he sees the boys bully a mute girl. Sing tries to be a hero to save her, but he fails to be beaten. The mute girl comforts him by offering him a lollipop, but he refuses the call and leaves. In Gyeon-woo childhood, his parents punish him for not earning good grades and not studying hard, but he ignored it because he considered himself smart. Gyeon-woo’s hero’s journey takes place where he meets a drunk girl on a subway is his call to adventure that will change his destiny. On the subway platform, Gyeon-woo sees the Girl swaying on the edge that is about to fall under an incoming train and immediately save her. The Girl completely intoxicated terrifying the other passenger’s prior to vomit at the old man head. Before she passes out, she calls Gyeon-woo “honey” which he answers the call to adventure. The passengers assume she is his girlfriend and responsible to take care of her. As a misadventure begins, he is a gentleman willing to apologize and help to clean off the old man’s wig and clothes. Gyeon-woo struggles to carry the drunken girl off the train at Bupyang station and leaves her on the platform for trying to ignore the call. However, as he crosses the exit gateway, he thinks twice with his conscience but to accept the call for adventure and goes back to get her to a motel, a much safer place, which he has, crosses the threshold.
