The Hero's 'Crossing The First Threshold'

Crossing the first threshold. Boundaries broken as the person named as the hero reaches the fourth step of their journey by leaving the world they have always known behind. Terrifying and exhilarating, the threshold challenges the hero’s worth not just physically but mentally forcing them to fight to reach their destiny of infinite potential. Taking many forms, the threshold awaits each hero attempting to bypass it as symbolized by doorways and rabbit holes in tales such as Alice in Wonderland. Indeed the hero's threshold does not confront the hero for its purpose does not mean it has to be an adversary, instead it's purpose to test the hero means it must lay in wait for them to approach. Thus the role of the threshold suggests that in reality
