Inspirational Speech: Rick Rescorla By US

The book written about Rick Rescorla along with the inspirational speech by President George W. Bush not only inspired me, but also made me proud to be an American. When many people speak about September 11 they often refer to planes crashing into the Twin Towers. In memorial of the terrorist acts that took place on that day it was the largest. However, there were two other well know incidents that occurred, the flight 93 hijacking and the actions upon the Pentagon. There were many hero’s and heroic actions that took place on that day, but to me the most inspirational was the assuring words spoken by our president and the selfless actions of Rick Rescorla. The Author of the Book “Rick Rescorla”, William Bennett, illustrated the bravery and selfless service provided by the civilian population in and around the location of the Twin Towers. Rick Rescorla was not just the head of security at Tower Two. He was a former Army Officer that was trained to always be prepared for the unexpected. …show more content…
Bush provided comfort and security through a powerful speech. September 11, 2001 President Bush stated “ Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature, and we responded with the best of America, with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.” As many great leaders before him, President bush faced a time challenging time during his term. In his speech he spoke words of inspiration of how great America was and how strong the nation stood united. He also praised the many volunteer workers that sacrifice so much and demonstrated selfless actions to assist those in need. In closing of his speech the president said, ” This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this
