One of these people that represent a hero is, Odysseus from The Odyssey. The Odyssey is one of Greeks most famous epic poems that was written by Homer, a well known Greek poet. Homer used a collection of 24 books to write about the great Odysseus’s journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan war. On his journey home, he encounters many obstacles: escaping a cyclops, encountering gods and goddesses, and fighting suitors. Throughout the story, Odysseus has multiple moments of heroism. In book 9, (The Lotus Eater), Odysseus is faced with a difficult situation. After stopping at the Island of The Lotus Eater, some of his men become addicted to the Lotus plant.
