The story of Terry Fox is about a young, motivated individual who was highly anticipated in sports and athletics. One day after driving home from basketball he crashed realizing his right knee was sore however ignored it. Shortly after, Terry was diagnosed with cancer and spent weeks in the hospital. During his time in the hospital, Terry came upon an interesting article about Dick Traum which inspired him to set forth on an incredible, life changing journey.
The beginning of his journey took place in St. John’s Newfoundland (1980) with supportive fanfare of local residents in the town of St. Johns. Terry first dipped his right leg into the Atlantic Ocean and filled two bottles of ocean water. He kept one bottle as a souvenir and the other

Perseus was demanded to embark on a heroic, life threatening journey to claim Medusa’s head and present it as a gift to the new couple Polydektes and Danae. The first obstacle Perseus was able to overcome was the fear of facing the Gorgon Medusa. The Gorgon’s head was made of snakes, with boar tusks, bronze hands, and wings of gold. The second obstacle Perseus overcame was to somehow not look into Medusa’s eyes and exterminate the Gorgon. He was able kill Medusa with the help of Hermes and Athena as he used Athena’s mirror to look at Medusa’s reflection. Also used Hermes’s unbreakable sword to cut off her head and place it into a pouch. He was taken straight to the nearest hospital as the doctors told him that the cancer has spread into his lungs. Due to ending his journey early, Fox raised $1.7 million but wasn’t enough for his intended goal for Cancer research. A week after ending his run, CTV organized a nationwide telethon to support Terry and the Canadian cancer society. The five hour event was able to raise $10.5 million with the support of Canadian, international celebrities, and many supporters of the Marathon of Hope. Donations continued throughout the year and by April over $23 million was raised for Cancer
