A hero can be defined in many different ways to a person. A hero could be defined as someone who is outstanding and makes a big impact on something. John Brown on October 16th, 1859, led a small raid U.S military arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia, with intentions of gaining armaments for their movement. John Brown was also active in the underground railroad; he even recruited his sons to help transport or guide runaway slaves from the south through the North into Canada. He killed many people during his raids but also freed slaves at the same time.
