The word hero is known to almost all people that are familiar with the English language. In addition, if one was told to give examples of a hero, the list could range from people they envy to those they feel or think are heroes. However, if someone would ask people to define the word, very few who would give the right meaning. A hero can be defined differently by various indicators; a hero can be someone’s role model based on their occupation or an individual who did a great deed that helped others. Children for instance, consider heroes’ to be movie stars that took the challenges and risk that nobody else could, or characters in stories that did more than the ordinary man could. First, as mentioned above, heroes are not heroes solely because of their occupations, such as a doctor for example. A doctor’s job is to save lives, thus, when they do their job, it is what is expected of them, even though they sacrifice most of their lives to study and learn for people’s wellbeing. However, if a doctor saves a drowning person by swimming in a fast-flowing river, they are considered a hero. In this case, they demonstrate an act of bravery, courage, and a loving heart for the person that drove him to take the bold step. To be genuinely courageous, one must not be worried with glory but rather centered around heling others. Therefore, a hero can be any person irrespective of occupations, it all depends on the risks they take to benefit others. Above all, heroes are heroes because of what they do for others. Therefore, a hero must have the willingness to sacrifice their needs and wants, for the benefit of others. Genuine braver is very calm, and exceptionally calm. It is not the desire to outperform all others at whatever cost, yet the inclination to help others at all cost. Heroism can also be as intimate as one’s own attempt battling cancer, attempting one’s hardest to survive the disease, always trying to find a cure and never giving up, while demonstrating commitment to pursuing treatment despite any …show more content…
Heroes do not have to be the generic Marvel superhero that fight crime and evil masterminds. An act of kindness can even be considered heroic, such as sacrifices that parents make for the health of their children. It is not surprising to see parents working hard to provide for their children, putting their child’s needs before their own. Some teachers who genuinely aim to teach and educate people as well as charities and orphanages who spend their valuable time helping children in need are also considered heroes. Another example is firefighters and police officers as well as solders that put their lives in dangers to help others. Anyone can do good deeds, but what makes someone a hero is they don’t give up. Anyone can just give up, but heroes keep trying. Rather than focusing on satisfying everyone, they know their best effort is good enough, and concentrate on making the best
