The hero myth is a very inspirational tale, which tells the story of how a hero is born. The hero myth gives a deeper insight in heroes, so that we can get a better understanding what it takes to be a hero. I was drawn from the reading, which got me thinking about the superhero I readied about, but truly couldn’t understand them, and can they truly be considered a hero. In the book Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, I will be using the hero 's myth to breakdown, whether Batman is fit to be the hero category. I do believe the Batman is a hero and should fit well with the hero 's myth, because of what it took him to get there.

There are many examples to use that show Batman fits in the hero journey. Like when Bruce felt that he was too old to fight crime was rock bottom in the sense that he has no faith in himself do anything but sit in the dark as he already dead. Batman also hit bottom when he had a Conflict with the Joke in a deadly battle that Denouement the story, and at the end of the battle Batman and Joker lying next to Batman bleeding for his life. As it seems the falling action as the Joker takes his last breathe. There is nothing more humiliating than to be lying next to your ermine helplessly gasping for air (Miller 151).

Which means that we can accomplish more, when you have someone that has the same vision to complete the mission. We see this in the comic book, with Batman having Robin at his slide. Batman and Robin have the same goal to keep Gotham safe from people who try to terrorize the people. Batman lost the Robin name Jason due being killed by the Joker and the new Robin name Carrie Kelley help Batman takes down the Mutant leader (Miller 93).
