What is a hero? A hero is someone that helps somebody or stands up for another person. A hero doesn’t have to be famous. Johnny was just a normal person. Johnny came from a bad background where his parents didn’t care if he came home at night. Johnny father beated him and he still stood up for what was right and he protected his friends. Johnny is the hero of The Outsiders because he saved many people, he protected his friends, he also stood up for what was right, and he risked his life for others.
