The Absolutely true Diary of a part-time Indian, is an amazing book. It offers an inside look at Indian life in America. It shows the hardships of being an indian. It shows how poverty directly affects a family or a community. The book also offers an inside look on how alcoholism can affect a family or a whole community. It also shows how racial tension can affect a community. It also shows how poverty can stop someone from reaching dreams and goals. The book is about Arnold, a young Indian who leaves the reservation in order to better himself. The Help is a great movie. The movie is based in the 1960’s. It is about Aibileen and Minny, African american maids who works in white homes, who are best friends. She works hard everyday.

For example, Abilene lives in poverty, and so does Arnold, but If you notice the poverty has a way of pulling the community together. When something happens they sort of rally around each other to provide support. Many of the people in Aibileen's side of town,many have the same job as her. Many of the people in Eileen's side of town make around the same amount of money. The Many people on Arnold's reservation just stayed. They graduated and never left. Arnold mentions how his parents got stuck there. His sister stayed in the cycle. They are stuck in the cycle. Which leads them back to poverty. The kids graduate and do not leave. Plenty of people goals is to make it out.
