“Only a life lived in the service of others is a life worth living,” said by Albert Einstein. I am interested in becoming a health care professional because bettering the lives of others is such a rewarding way to live your life. I also have a love for anatomy and physiology which I discovered my senior year in high school in my Health Occupations class. In the class we learned about each system in the body and did multiple dissections, and I loved every second of it. That is how I discovered the health care field is the right field for me. Working in the health care field is different than working in other fields. The health care field is constantly changing; new ways of doing procedures and curing diseases are being invented each day. My entire life I have been surrounded and encouraged by people to care for others. For instance, my mother works in health care as a hospice and home health aid. After reviewing the historical events of health care, these are the three events I believe to be the most significant in health care in today’s society. This is used still used today.…

Health care affects us all whether we like it or not. Health care is a very controversial topic because many are not happy with the new “Obama care” coverage due to the fact that it requires state funding. Some tax payers do not feel they should be responsible for paying for people who need health coverage. Individuals that go long periods of time without regular check-ups are at risk for medical conditions that require serious extensive medical treatment. Personally, I believe that everyone should have affordable health care coverage.…

Government functions to promote the well-being of its citizens; this includes promoting health care in a manner that will best promote the welfare of its citizens. Since health care is very regulated, it does not follow the laws that model a free-market economy. For this reason, instituting a health care system in a capitalist society causes unintended consequences that lead to injustice. Injustices stem from a commercial incentive for research and drug development, a vast consumer surplus, and limited access to care. The government is a reflection of the citizens they serve.…
