For example, people who have Parkinson’s disease can use rhythms and beats to help them with their impaired motor skills. In my case, music helps my motor skills by preventing me from having tics. Tics are very distracting in the classroom and during my social life because they take up a lot of energy. I also lose concentration while having these tics. Music helps me keep my concentration during class so that I can pay attention and avoid having tics. The authors also stated that rhythms can help people come out of their comfort zone and allow them to be treated more quickly than without the use of music. I agree with the authors and I believe that music does help me come out of my comfort zone. Music can be used as a form of therapy, and treatments for disabilities. It can also be used to stimulate the brain and think more actively. Music is a huge part of my life and I don’t know how I could live without it. I it has helped me with my turrets and ADHD throughout my life. The healing powers of music can also be used to help people who have suffered from a stroke, people with Parkinson’s disease and people with autism. I believe musical therapy is an amazing form of therapy and it should be used by therapist more often. After reading this article, I learned that music has helped me with my disorder tremendously and I don’t know how I could have treated it without music. Medicine was never much of a help for me so I am very happy that music has been able to help me throughout my entire life. I also hope it will continue to help me in my future
