He lands in the water that's surrounded by a forest. Brian has to survive the wilderness but luckily he has his hatchet with him and he is very positive that someone will eventually find him. Without his power of positive thinking then he would probably not stand a chance in the wilderness. “ I might be hit but I'm not done. When the light comes I'll start to rebuild. I still have the hatchet and that's all I had in the first place.”(Chapter 16 157) When the tornado hit the area and all of his materials where gone he decided that he will do what he did in the beginning with no hesitation. He stayed positive when all of the stuff that he worked hard on was gone and he decided that he was going to repeat what he did before which makes him more positive than he has ever been. Also he thought that all of the stuff that was happening was not affecting him. “ Come on, he thought, baring his teeth in the darkness-come on. Is that the best you can do? Is that all you can hit me with- a moose and a tornado? Well he thought, holding his ribs and smiling then spitting mosquitos out of his mouth. Well, that won't get the job done.”(Chapter 16 pg 158) He could handle more than a tornado or a moose, he wasn't scared, he felt tough now, he’s not afraid from nature. He is not the same person that he was when he lived with his mom or the same personality, he is now a changed boy and he could have never done this if he didn't stay positive.
