However, out of the three children-Victor Huapilla, Perla Sanchez, and Zulema Lopez- I feel that I am most similar to Perla in terms of personality. Perla is a very down-to-earth person who tries her best to improve present circumstances, but also accepts the things in life she can not change. In the documentary, Perla frequently has her hopes and expectations taken away from her whenever a sudden, drastic issue occurs inside the family, yet Perla never reacts with an indignant attitude and places much of her desires after the welfare of her family. After reflecting on multiple incidents in the past, I believe that I am most like Perla because we both try our best to maintain a happy, peaceful family, and can afford to sacrifice our own temporary desires for a better future for the whole family. One event that I believe proves this is the time when my parents made me move from my private school to a public school. At the time, I was a blithe third-grader who really enjoyed going to my private school everyday and seeing all of my friends and teachers, as well as getting to play on the colorful playground. The thought of moving to a public school never entered my mind, and I never planned on leaving my private school. However, the bills my parents had to pay for me to attend the private school were beginning to become overwhelming, and too much money was going into these bills instead of more important matters, such as insurance or medical payments. Therefore, near the end of December, during my winter break, my parents came up to me and directly told me that in January, I would no longer be attending the private school and instead, go to a public school. Upon hearing this, I thought they were joking, but once I realized that they were serious, I was suddenly terrified, confused, sad, and angry all at the same time. I had heard so many negative things about
