As humans, we must make choices. Sartre believes that even choosing not to make choices is a choice itself. Furthermore, Jean-Paul Sartre believed that everything in existence has to have an essence. The essence to an object creates what it is, but according to Sartre, there is absolutely no design for a human being. Why then, is morality such an important factor which influences all of our decisions and why does society as a whole enforce these moral laws every day? If we are selfish as humans, doesn’t that then mean that we are therefore unjust humans, because of the selfish actions that we make? Or rather, seeing as though all humans are selfish, does it mean that humans are incapable to life a moral life due to this?
Morals are the ideas in which guide us throughout day to day life, how humanity defines its action as right or wrong, just or unjust. But why should we live in a moral way? When we live morally in our lives, we biologically feel better as humans. When helping others, and acting morally, our self-sufficiency that we feel, is indefinitely increasing. This sufficiency in which we feel, could in fact live on throughout our whole life, and can also help during our future endeavours. When you act morally, you essentially live a happier, better
