Why would an earthquake of such magnitude hit one of the poorest countries in the world and leave it so barren. With this author being a heavy believer in karma, it could be that the people of the island got so bad, something triggered an earthquake causing hundreds of thousands to suffer. The island dwellers may have cursed God for letting such an agonizing thing happen to them when they are already in a pickle. Thank God anyways for not giving them a double-whammy.
Finally, the primary reason because of the effects of the earthquake was greed. Most people have heard this saying too, “Greed is the root of all evil.” It can be, but is also isn’t. The miserable people of Haiti would not have experienced such a punch to the face if they would have been a little more careful with their money and simply being morally right and just people.
