Reflection On The Group: The Mix And My Fellow Group Member Groups

Great Essays
My group is called The Mix and my fellow group members are: Tatiana Hurtado, Laura Espinoza, Kenneth Mous, Anthony Porter, and Jose Gonzalez. For our cultural experience project, my group meet five times through the span of two months. Throughout these various group meetings we all contributed our ideas and energy in order to successfully complete our project, but some more than others.
We agreed to choose Laos culture to base our project on because Tatiana’s boyfriend was Laos, which gave us easier access to learn about Laos culture. Tatiana also knew of an event we could attend as well. So thanks to her, choosing a culture and attending a cultural event was easier than expected.
Our first meeting where we discussed our project was held

Everyone was present at that meeting except for Jose. Before the meeting had started we were having trouble with Kenneth. In the morning, Anthony sent us a screenshot of his and Kenneth’s private conversation on Facebook where Kenneth was upset about us not going to an event with him. During a meeting with the professor after class we had somewhat agreed to attend another cultural event with Kenneth to make up for the one he missed, but since Kenneth was not able to provide a steady date and event as the deadline was fast approaching, we decided we could no longer attend an event with him. In the messaged Kenneth had wrote to Anthony “Y’all [our group] are stupid I’ll make sure you get a zero too in that case.” So not only did he insult the entire group but he also threatened Anthony by telling him that he would make sure that he would receive a zero for a grade. Our group was very upset about his behavior and we decided that we would try to sort it out during this meeting. When Kenneth arrived Anthony addressed the problem and Kenneth was quick to apologize for his behavior and told the group he was no longer upset. We decided to accept his apology and move on with our work. During this meeting Laura had given us all of our shirts to wear for our presentation. Tatiana also confirmed with us on what food she was going to be bringing for the project. We all gave both Tatiana and Laura $5 each for …show more content…
I give Tatiana Hurtado a score of 10 based on her personal effort that she provides for the group. For every meeting she attends she always contributes by providing her own input and if it weren’t for her, finding a culture to study would have been more difficult. I give Laura Espinoza a score of 10 based on her personal efforts as well. She went out of her way to make us all T-shirts, which I think is very creative and thoughtful. She is also very fun to dance with. I give Kenneth Mous a score of 3 based on his rude behavior and lack of effort. He has caused the group unneeded problems and has set us back. Although during the few times he did show up to meetings he contributed, it still does not anywhere near make up for his overall unsatisfactory effort for this project. I give Anthony Porter a 10 because he outstanding efforts have truly guided us for this project. I can really tell he cares about this project and wants to make sure we all succeed as a group. He always shows up to every meeting early and is always prepared to accomplish any tasks for the day. I give Jose Gonzalez a 10 as well

After completing the cases and the BSG Game together as a team, I believe the person who deserves a higher grade than the group average should be Nima Dehghani. Everybody on my team communicated and worked together in a timely fashion, everybody responded to text, did their part of the cases, and showed up when needed. However, the person who deserve a higher grade than the team average is Nima Dehghani because he kept us on track with the cases by reminding us when the cases were due and gave us parts to do on the case instead of making everybody do one case per person and he is the reason why we got number one on the BSG Game. Nima understood the game better than all of us combine, he knew what moves to play and the reactions that would…

(Use a scale of 1-10 with the highest degree of initiative). Explain your reasons for your determination. Out of ten, I would rate our class’ efforts on Mission Carnival a nine. This is because as a whole, the games were successful and we sold a whole bunch of tickets. With the help of parents and teachers, we made this year’s Mission Carnival one of the best in a long time.…

On the Tuesday of presentation week, we began compiling our final presentation. We decided to piece together the final product on my school account. Both Josefeth and Reyna had sent me their work, and the only part of the assignment missing was Kevin's, who had not shown up to class. When we asked Kevin for his part of the presentation, he gave numerous excuses for not having completed any of his assigned work. Because we were all going to suffer as a result of his decision to not do any work, I took it upon myself to complete his entire section of…

A group I belong to would be Subwolfer Studios. Subwolfer Studios is a small video game company that I am attempting to put together in order to program video games for the cell phones and perhaps other platforms. Although I founded the group, each member of the group has their own roles and we each have to fulfil our own roles in order to make the company succeed. Although, we are in the very basic steps of formulating the company at this point, al we really have fully accomplished is a name, we have met enough times that I can clearly define each person’s role and attitude within the group. To start out, not only am I the founder of Subwolfer Studios, but I’m also the lead programmer.…

They were experienced "AP students," the best of the best, I was a mere peasant in their presence. Reluctantly, I made my way to the front of the room and with an unsure hand slid my work under the projector screen.…

I do believe it is possible to form such a close-knit group in contemporary American society because sometimes people who went through the same things can become really close to one another, but they don't necessarily need to have the same experiences just agree on the same things. For example me and my friend group some of us have went through the same things but not all of us and some of use have been friends since elementary school and we all agree mostly on the same things but we all have different taste were like a mixture of different people, but we are still we are all extremely close…

Culture explains every part of a person’s life. It is the knowledge and characteristics of a particular group of individuals, defined by factors such as religion, language, social habits, cuisine, music, and arts. The world is full of people that belong to different cultures but they are sometimes forced to relate and interact in various ways. The Americans and the Chinese are examples of people with different cultures as anthropologist Francis Hsu illustrates. Hessler shares the sentiments in his book titled Hassle`s River Town.…

Individual Reflection Paper As humans, it is within our inborn nature to interact and cooperate with others. This is due to the fact that no one individual is perfect and capable in all ways. We are able to complement each other’s inadequacy through working as a group, hence this is why collective efforts often made things easier as compared to individual effort. While working in groups, we will experience changes in group dynamics and processes.…

Throughout our study of our own human race we have learned that we are social creatures. Similar to many other species, we live in packs and need others of our kind to survive. While we have adapted this need over time, when it was necessary, we hunted and found safety in numbers. While living among others is necessary, it is not always easy. Like all packs, every member does not always get along perfectly.…
