I enjoyed class on Monday, 10/20/2015, I was engaged and focused. I am very excited to begin the group counseling sessions. I believe that this will be an amazing interactive learning experience that will prepare me for my practicum and internship experience. My favorite part about class was the group counseling session on Adlerian therapy by Brittany. Brittany did an excellent job facilitating this group session. Within five minutes of her session, I knew what theoretical orientation she was using. During the counseling session, Brittany kept the class engaged. She allotted time for us talk as a group as we shared our goal worksheets. She also interacted with us by disclosing some information about her goals as well. When the session first began, she asked each of us: “What was one thing that we could have done, that would have made our day more productive?” This was an appropriate ice breaker to get the group more acquainted with each other. It turned out that the majority of the group had the same goal in common. It personally made me feel more relaxed, knowing that I am not the only one who is dealing with stress. Many of my colleagues have their own issues they are dealing with on a personal level. As myself, they manage to work through these issues day by day.
