In 1997, I was born in a hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. My dad was in the military, so we moved around a lot when I was young. Eventually, my dad got a job in Rapid City, and we settled down here for now 14 years. One of the greatest moments in my life was when I graduated from high school, it was really exciting for me to know I could start a whole new life and leave the other one behind me. I currently live with my parents with my seven other brothers and sisters (Theresa, Jonathan, Dominic, myself, Isabella, Francis, Rebecca, and Christina). With so many people in the family, my parents decided it was best to homeschool all of us, so I spent the next 13 years being taught by my parents and online teachers. During this time, I became very anti-social, I was so shy to go out in the world and talk to other people. My mom was so busy with taking care of my younger siblings and my dad was always at work, I wasn’t taught the socializing skills I needed to communicate with other people. It wasn’t until after 8th grade, I decided to go into a summer program, that changed my life forever. There were people from public school there, and I learned to talk and socialize with them. This really helped me, but I deep within I still had this shyness / quietness in me, I wanted to get rid of, but didn’t know how. I then started doing activities like volunteering and helping people out, which also helped me improve with my social skills. From then on, I started getting better and…
