Compare And Contrast Harry Potter And Beowulf

Throughout time literature has been a door to another worlds in which there are many significant heroes in stories. Often times they tell of the great deaded that they have done. I have found that Harry Potter is an example of the greatest hero throughout all of literature. In comparison to Beowulf, Harry Potter is the better hero because he is a classic hero, he has been a hero since birth, and he does heroic acts purely for helping others.
In literature there are many different types of heroes that come to play throughout stories but the greatest type is the classic hero. Harry Potter shows that he is the model image of a classic her because he is “the cream of the crop”, meaning he is the best of the best when it comes to all people (Bunting). This shows how many people have also found that Harry Potter was the best of the best when it comes down to literary heros. Although Beowulf was though as one of the best heroes of his time things have changed in terms of what greatness is shown. Often times classic hero's contain the same qualities but as for Beowulf he only contains three out of the four that are needed to be a true classics hero, “courage, intelligence, athleticism, and loyalty.”(Bunting). Those are allow of the traits that are needed to make a true hero and Harry Potter contains them all. But in the case between Harry Potter and Beowulf Harry Potter comes out on top due to the fact that he hold multiple qualities that make him a greater hero than Beowulf, the childhood influences that made him a hero and also the ability to trust others enough to help and give them some of the glory.
