A congregation can create opportunities for church growth, first by simply applying and living the greatest commandment (Matt. 22:34-40, NASB), which explains the Bible and its entirety. The greatest commandment, Jesus himself, lived and taught as an example for everyone to live by. He teaches it to exemplify the importance of loving God with the fullness of every functional part of one’s body. Likewise, the commandment should venture to include others as well. It is at this point, one can commence the ideal servanthood for the ministry.

Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.” In other words, God has entrusted his ministries to be empowered by the Holy Spirit, that spirit should dwell on the inside of his chosen people, (Jn. 14:26, NASB). Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

Down through the eons of time, the Body of Christ has had the ability to forget the core mission of the gospel. God has commissioned us and set us apart to fulfill His plan on this planet. Although the Church gets involved in many activities and projects, like cleaning up the neighborhood, summer camps, visiting the shut-ins, what is the reason or purpose for our action. There are many organizations, which hold marriage conferences, feed the poor, build housing in third world countries, give comfort to the grieving, and such, but is this the primary mission of the church? “Without a clear understanding of mission, organizations, and churches alike suffer.”…

I used to be a member of the National Honor Society in J.W. Sexton High School. We met twice a month to discuss about volunteering opportunities such as volunteering in the 40/8 veterans organization, which I helped out from time to time. In the 40/8 veterans organization, the people who work there make food for veterans to eat. I help out by washing the dishes. Service can be seen as a burden, or as an enlightening experience. This year I began to comprehend the impact service can have, if you put your heart into it. This year I learned why service is important, how service can change me, and how God's face can be seen in service. For people who serve it is evident that the more you work God, the more you want to work for God, and the better you feel about it. I attend a massive church, one of the biggest in northern Virginia, McLean Bible Church.…

For this project, I volunteered at Sacred Heart Community Center serving the poor in the community around me. I packaged food into bags to give out to those who needed it, then sorted clothes onto different racks in order to give out clothes to people who needed them the next day. This would allow them to focus on more important matters, such as paying for other necessities or trying to better their lives, and would help give them the same opportunities afforded to me. I picked this service because it impacted those in communities close to me, and thus I was able to make a change that I could see and feel. Before my service, I was excited to work at Sacred Heart, as I have worked there before and had made many meaningful connections with different people.…
