The Greatest Accomplishments In Thomas More's Early Life

“As a matter of fact, there are so many men soliciting favors from the great that it will be no great loss if they have to do without me and a couple of others like me.” (1.13). This is a quote from Utopia. Utopia is a work of fiction and political philosophy published in 1516 in Latin by Thomas More. The book is a frame narrative primarily depicting a fictional island society and its religious, social and political customs. Thomas More is a hardworking and intelligent author and lawyer.

One way Thomas More was great were his accomplishments in his early life. Thomas More was born in Milk Street, London on February 7, 1478. He was the son of Sir John More, a prominent judge. He attended St. Anthony's School in London, one of the best schools of his day.Thomas went on to study at Oxford University, where he spent two years mastering Latin and formal logic, writing comedies, and studying Greek and Latin literature. As a youth he served as a page in the household of John Morton, archbishop of Canterbury and chancellor of England.

Another way More was a significant part of history was his achievements in his later life. In February 1496, More was admitted to Lincoln's Inn, one of England's four legal societies, to prepare for admission to the bar. In 1501

Thomas More is known for his 1516 book Utopia. Also for his ill-timed death in 1535, after refusing to acknowledge King Henry VIII as head of the Church of England. He was canonized by the Catholic Church as a saint in 1935.n More is also thought to have written History of King Richard III (in Latin and in English) between 1513 and 1518.
