Children never outgrow the need for a family. Whether they are seven or seventeen or older, all children need a family to love them, support them, and most of all, not give up on them. Many older children and teenagers in foster care need foster parents, adoptive parents, mentors, etc. Me wanting to become a youth counselor for troubled teens is critical to me because many of these children have been traumatized, abandoned, and hurt. They are going to push your buttons just like any other teenager, and they are going to force you to deal with your own issues, It requires a lot of patience to give them the time, support, and to process their life. Thank you, God. Me becoming a youth counselor is one of the best decision I have ever made. My passion in becoming a youth counselor is to provide a creative platform for young people and young adults to translate their lives through God’s gift to them, their talents which I believe is a therapy of a lifetime.
