The Pyramids were an amazing accomplishment of ancient Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza, the tallest pyramid, was nearly 150 meters tall. In addition, there are tomb systems on the inside. What makes it more impressive is that they were built thousands of years ago. The pyramids in Ancient Egypt were an amazing feat of an ancient civilization. The pyramids were Ancient Egypt were huge constructions. The largest pyramid constructed in Egypt is the Great Pyramid of Giza, which originally stood at 147 meters tall. Each side of the base of the pyramids measured about 230 meters. Located inside of the pyramid is a passage called the Grand Gallery. For instance, it is estimated that it would cost around five billion dollars and take about five years if the Great Pyramid was built today. Unfortunately for the Egyptians, there was not the same technology today as there was 4500 years ago. This is why it is said that the pyramid took twenty years to construct the pyramid, which would mean that a brick would have to been placed every five minutes, even with if the pyramid was worked on day and night. There are many theories to explain how a massive project such as a pyramid was built by an ancient civilization. Some of them are more unlikely, such as aliens helping build the pyramids. The real method is understood by historians, as blueprints of the pyramids were found. It is believed that the stones were dragged up ramps outside of the pyramid, which may have been built out of wood, dirt, or more stone. These ramps would have had to have been gradual as to let the workers be able to move the heavy materials up to higher parts of the pyramid. More recently it has been thought that there could have been a ramp on the inside of the pyramid, just to build the upper parts of the pyramid.
