The Great Pyramid of Giza The only remaining structure of the original seven wonders of the world is The Great
Pyramid of Giza. If you did not know, The Pyramid of Giza is also the only place or structure that is associated with the original seven wonders and the new ones. It is a world renowned tourist attraction and can be visited at almost anytime in a full calendar year. It is located on the Giza plateau near modern day Cairo. It dates back to the reign of Khufu during the fourth dynasty, or 2589-2566 BC(Sen). The pyramid was the tallest and largest man made structure on the planet up until the creation of the Eiffel Tower in 1889. The pyramid measures out to be 479 feet tall and has a base of 754 feet. The pyramid was assembled with over two million bricks of stone with some stones such as the granite slabs in the King’s chamber weighing thousands of pounds. The positioning and preciseness of every stone is argued to be utterly impossible for the technology at the time. A vizier had to delegate responsibility for materials, transportation, payments, and every additional duty needed to complete a project. Although historians do know how the workforce was structured, the still fail to fully grasp how the ancient egyptians were able to develop something of such immense size and accuracy.
