At first, there was no sound, not even the chirp of a bug. Then, a distant rumble coming nearer and nearer, T until it had finally arrived. It was a child stampede of hundreds of boys! There was a rainbow of colors from shirts of the children and a mountain of orange-gray dust behind them. They were all headed to one specific destination: The Great North American Circus! May 18th had finally come, and ALL the children had been waiting for what seemed months for the day to finally appear where they can watch all of the animals and circus performers do tricks. Everyone was going to the circus with one or two of their buddies. In the back of the stampede, there were two best friends in bright purple and green circus costumes. They were named Dan Clark and Christopher Watson. The children were blind to all of the troubles ahead. …show more content…
Every day they went together to see the posters of many colors. It had midnight black, heavenly white, vivid green, glowing orange, sparkling yellow, deep sea blue, and plum purple. On May 15th Dan declared “I have raised $1.00 by selling lemonade! Now both of us can go to the circus!” They both cried “Yippee!” and hooted “Hooray!” Now they were even more anxious for the day to finally arrive. On May 16th and 17th the boys barely slept they were so excited. Their eyes were red and when Chris tried to talk, all he could say was “Ww, oly un dy lft.” What he tried to say was “Wow!
