The song “Artificial Love” by EXO represents the plot of the novel or rather part of the climax. The storyline of the novel follows Gatsby and his struggle to reunite with his long-lost love Daisy, as told through the eyes of Nick Carraway. The climax of the novel is the confrontation between Gatsby and Daisy’s husband Tom at the Plaza hotel. The song is used to represent Tom’s probable thought process during this time. In Chapter 7 of The Great Gatsby, Gatsby exposes what he and Daisy had together when he states “‘Your wife doesn’t love you,’ said Gatsby. ‘She’s never loved you. She loves me.’”(Fitzgerald 130) At first, Tom doesn’t believe Gatsby, saying that he “‘must be crazy!’”(Fitzgerald 130). The song could relate to his current state
