The Great Gatsby's Life-Personal Narrative

It was a cold, and cloudy day and it was quite reflective of Daisy’s morose attitude. Her days were always the same; school, reading, dreaming, and sleeping. She desperately wanted an escape from the dreary streets of Croydon, where she had lived her whole life. School was a bore, Algebra 2 and World History just didn’t suffice when it came to intriguing Daisy. She walked home from school, feeling the light raindrops on her arms and smelling the vial car fuel. It was just the Croydon air. Daisy arrived at her home to the sounds of loud smashing and doors slamming, “If you want to leave than leave. You aren’t needed here. Daisy is sixteen and she can take care of herself, and as for me, a large boulder …show more content…
Before I leave, let me say that you’re a coward and hypocrite. We had something and you’re unwilling to test the waters. Goodbye,” said Mark, Linda’s third husband. Mark grabbed his satchel and slammed the wood door behind him. “I never liked him anyway, I always found that he lacked intelligence. He’s been divorced six times. What do you expect Mum?” said Daisy. “Do me a favor and don’t involve yourself in my personal life. What I do has absolutely nothing to do with you,” Linda said. “It does, because I live here, and will live her for the next three years. Don’t worry, as soon as I’m old enough I’ll get as far away from Croydon as I can,” said Daisy. “Is that so? Where do you plan on going? Especially with your supposed “writing” career,” said Linda. “Kensington, Chelsea, Notting hill, and of course a vacation home in Cambridge,” said …show more content…
“Private Investigator? Why do I find that somewhat fascinating?” Daisy said. “You never know, I could come in handy one day .” Marcus said.
Suddenly, their carriage stopped and a man guided them towards the gate. There were only few people in line to board the ride, however they were still told to leave, as the eye was closing for the night. Marcus began to walk down the empty road that led to the train station. Daisy suddenly began to chase after him. Her heels made loud crashing noises on the cement as she ran for her life.
“Marcus! Wait!” she exclaimed. She caught up to him.
“Would you mind helping me out with something. A job. I know it’s very late but I sort of need this done in the coming hours.” Daisy said reluctantly.
“Daisy, It’s past midnight. Though my work often does go late into the night, I’m quite tired. Are you sure we can’t just meet in the morning?” Marcus said. Daisy’s eyes began to tear as she wiped the mascara from her eyes. “Daisy, are you ok? Don’t cry. You must be tired, go home and get a good night’s sleep. Come to my office tomorrow, 9 am sharp,” Marcus said as he leaned over and wiped a tear from Daisy’s

My mother tells me that dreams are crossroads, not belonging to the mortal or spirit world. In dreams, the deceased can communicate with the living, tie up loose ends. The lost souls would be able to apologize for anything done wrong, be able to say “I love you” one last time, and even tell them where a certain large stack of money is hidden. The possibilities are infinite in Crossroad. Once anything that made the spirit feel fragmented arose, they were condemned to wander Crossroad in search of closure.…
