Only three people came to Jay Gatsby’s funeral, after he had opened his house to hundreds of people while he was still alive. The three people that attended were Nick Carroway, Mr. Gatz, who was Gatsby’s dad, and Owl Eyes. All of Gatsby’s, considered, “friends”, did not want to get mixed up in it, so they decided to not come. This sense of the American Dream, can end instantly, and nobody will care how much money and work you have put into it. These people that came to Gatsby’s parties were extremely selfish. Sense Gatsby was dead, he could no longer give them anything. Therefore, why would they want to go to a funeral, there is nothing in it for them. It was a groggy day, and it was raining.
