The story I read was called “ The Great Gatsby” It’s by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The book came out in April 10, 1925.The story takes place in 1922. The Great Gatsby is a story that is told by a character named Nick Carraway. Nick was Gatsby's neighbor a rich person who lives in West Egg.
The character I will be talking about is Gatsby. His full name is Jay Gatsby. Gatsby comes from the Mid West. In the book Gatsby is described as charming, gracious, and mysterious. Gatsby is also known as a self-made man. Gatsby looks forward to having a relationship with a woman. As a young kid Gatsby wasn’t close to his family. The quote that I chose that relates to that is when he says “... Why of course we can ” (pg. ). Gatsby really wants to be in a relationship with Daisy. He throws parties to get her attention. He even told how he felt. The quote he told about his feeling is when he said “ Angry and half in love with her…” ( pg. ). When Gatsby went to Nick's house he invited Daisy. Gatsby sends a guy to nick's house to cut the grass and then he sends another guy to deliver flowers.Gatsby was nervous about it. When Daisy arrived, he was nervous. Nick left Gatsby and Daisy alone for them to talk and get use to each other. Before he met Daisy again, he had a dream. He wanted to be with Daisy. When they met he said, “ You always have a green light that burns all night at the end of your dock’’ (pg. ). Gatsby has done a lot of things to impress Daisy. He worked to be wealthy. Gatsby gets a house close to Daisy's house. Nick wanted Gatsby to leave Long Island, but Gatsby refused to leave because he didn't want to leave Daisy. In chapter 8 Myrtle was killed by Gatsby car. Myrtle thought it was tom, she wanted to tell him to stop the car, but when she actually saw who was driving it was daisy. Daisy refused to stop because she was sad and depressed. When Gatsby found out who killed Myrtle, he took the blame and said that he was the one driving. Daisy doesn't love Gatsby as much as Gatsby loves Daisy. Gatsby wanted to go for a swim. George Wilson thought that Gatsby was having an affair with Myrtle. George went to Gatsby's mansion, he had a pistol in his hand. When he saw Gatsby he shot him in the heart.
