Foreword
Before delving into the prescribed analysis as required by this assignment, I feel it necessary to provide some background as to why I chose this song as I could have seemingly chosen any other just as easily; however, throughout my troubled years, I found myself frequenting not only this song, but the entire album as well.

In my younger years, back when i enjoyed the company of my older siblings on a daily basis before their departure to college, we all struggled in our dealings with our alcoholic, emotionally abusive father. Ironically, the broken bonds shared between my father, my siblings and I initiated the bittersweet genesis of the unbreakable bonds I am so lucky to share with each of my siblings. None, however, compare to the relationship my brother and I kindled out of the ashes of our house’s burnt and broken foundation. Despite his being five years senior, he never failed to offer the loving advice, friendship, and catharsis that only brotherly love can bring to the despondency he saw residing within me. For many years, he was the best and only friend I had. Our understanding of

This song tells a story, albeit only a small fraction of a story, but a story nonetheless; a story in which I was able to find deep solace in which subsequently reinforces the pragmatic value of this song as well. Of all the verses in the song the last few meant the most to me. They taught me the virtue of acceptance. For that reason I believe that this song does have didactic value, at very least from my point of view as it acted as a source of insight as to how to deal with difficult times. If it spoke teachings to me then it no doubt could do the same for

Firstly, in both novels the author presents the heroine as subject to the whims of others in giving them power over their actions, a similar example being that they both reject the man who they love. For Anne in Persuasion her maternal figure, Lady Russell, is shown to have been to deciding factor in her rejection of Captain Wentworth as her opposition to the notion of marriage is said to be ‘more than Anne could combat’, showing that Lady Russell’s significance towards Anne means that she is able to persuade Anne more easily, leading to Anne being subject to the whims of others in the aftermath that is ‘Persuasion’. It could also be argued that this is a sign of weakness as Anne is already ‘just Anne’ at home, and her word often, if not always, is disregarded yet her connection to Captain Wentworth leads…

Throughout my lifetime, there has been moments of laughter as well as grief. But a moment in my life that was pivotal was when I first felt the love of my life, at the moment, fade away slowly from me and sort of detach from our relationship. The song by Christian Nodal- “Adios Amor” showed me how at times when the love fades between partners to the point where there is no love at all, you have to do your best to move on rather than spending time grieving the love that is lost. Therefore, the song “Adios Amor” gave me the tough realization that some relationships are best to let go of if they don’t work as a young adult, and will continue to guide me throughout my life.…

"So you thought you had to keep this up All the work that you do So we think that you're good And you can't believe it's not enough All the walls you built up Are just glass on the outside. " Few songs can affect or should I say infect me the way this song does. Tenth Avenue is not the band I would have ever listened to if you asked me before the middle of my freshman year at North Miami Beach senior high one might even assume that my genre of music was anger and it would have been true.…

Music can be my life saver because it reflects on what I go through. Times after times, I would fall and give up on my problems. That last moment when I was about to give up on everything, a dramatic song going through the atmosphere and went straight to my ears made me want to listen to it. “Masterpiece” by Jessie J has been repeated at all time. I would listen and pay attention to the meaning of this song.…

Listeners can connect to this lyric because like Jesus, we all must carry burdens and make sacrifices in our lives. “Now there’s a loss that can never be replaced.” Like Mary, we also must learn to carry on after we lost people that were important to us. My favorite part of this song is the last lyric. “Well Jesus kissed his mother’s hands, whispered Mother, still your tears, for remember the soul of the universe willed a world and it appeared.”…

The media perceives Taylor Swift as nothing more than a clingy, manipulative, and crazy young woman who jumps from relationship to relationship. Being the lyrical genius she is, Swift created the song "Blank Space" in 2014 to defend her position with this preconceived notion. She uses many rhetorical devices to explain her position in this argument against the media. With the beneficial use of rhetorical devices, Taylor Swift shows that boys will only stay if it is worth a fight, and that she is fully conscious of the media representation.…

The song portrays hope, illusion, and fear. Falling in love is risky, you have to open up to the person and share your secrets. In the beginning, everything seems so bright and nice like a sky full of stars, but giving the heart to someone means to feel helpless and to risk the feeling of sadness and heartbreaks if things don’t go as planned. Before Heran I started dating he was talking to a girl who went to the same school as him. “I don’t care, go on and tear me apart…”, made a perfect sense to the feeling I was having, I was completely heartbroken (Coldplay).…

Have you ever heard a song that has impacted your life? Songs are a form of art that allows artists to express their feelings in a form of music. Songs can be interrupted in many ways; some songs have a more literal meaning, while other songs require you to interpret the lyrics to understand the deeper meaning. Artists often use figurative, metaphorical, and poetic elements in their songs to help develop the overall message. The use of figurative terms in a song leaves the interpretation of the song broad and allows the listener to have their own meaning of the song.…

This song means so much to me that it creates a stamp of true love in my heart. For example, two of the verses that caught my attention were: "When I see your face there’s not a thing that I would change ‘cause you’re amazing just the way you are and when you smile the whole world stops and stares for a while ‘cause girl, you’re amazing just the way you are." In relation to my love for this woman, these two verses are the most significant and more meaningful verses of this song. In other words, through my life, this is the piece of the puzzle I was missing. I feel this song is so powerful and so real because it reminds me of my beautiful wife, and that she is the spark that I was missing from my life.…

This song utilizes a lot of major chords, creating an energetic and motivational mood for the listener. The build-up of the song is also in line with the overall purpose of the song, in which it starts with piano, followed by the addition of solo electric guitar, and finally accompanied by the drums. The song itself tells a story about escaping loneliness by searching for love. The role of music at this point is to act as valued companion since music is found to be really understanding and compassionate (Schafer et al., 2013). The counterpoint of this song is at the chorus “Don’t stop believing”, which conveys that although the current situation might be lonely and hard, the hope and belief that you will someone to love will make it all bearable.…
