The choices made by the director and the actors in the play, “The great Gatsby” helped to portray the important parts from the book but did not help to show a better understanding of the character’s image. For example, many parts of the book was not shown in the play. I think the directors decided to show the play like this because if every little details were shown, the play would not be interesting as much. I was really amazed at the fact that even when they left out many details, the play still represented what the whole novel was about. Also, there were specific colors used on the actors when they died on the play. I think using the technique such as displaying specific colors in the play emphasized that colors were vital for the story.
