The Great Gatsby Kennedy Research Paper

I was born to Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, and Joseph Patrick Kennedy on May 29th, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. I had one older brother, Joe, who was two years older than me, though I would eventually have seven younger siblings. I was named John Fitzgerald Kennedy after my grandfather on my mother’s side, Francis Fitzgerald, who was a popular Boston mayor. I was not a very healthy child. As a baby, I had whooping cough, measles, chickenpox, and scarlet fever. In fact, there was a running joke in my family that a mosquito took a great risk in biting me, as a little bit of my blood would surely kill the mosquito. My Father, Joseph Kennedy, was a very determined man. He was a Harvard college graduate, with the ambition of becoming a successful businessman and making a million dollars by the age of 35. However, he did not fit in very well at Harvard, due to being an Irish Catholic in Boston during a time of great prejudice towards Irish Catholics. My father always encourages us boys to compete with each other and to be athletic, but sometimes the competition was too much. However, I was not a fantastic student, and was only interested in my History and English classes. Upon my graduation from the boarding school for adolescents, I attended Harvard College where my brother was already a student. Joe was a very ambitious child. When we were younger, he told our family that he would be the first Catholic to become president, and no one in my family doubted him. Like Joe, I played football, where I sustained a ruptured disk, which affected me for my entire life. My grades in college were average, like the grades I received in boarding school, and my interests were in my History and Government
